The San Diego Shakespeare Society hosts a free open reading of a Shakespeare play at The Upstart Crow Bookstore and Coffehouse in Seaport Village the first Tuesday of every month. You can join in the reading or just come along for the fun and interactive listening experience in a great bookstore/coffee house setting.
On Tuesday, December 6th Tiffany Tang will direct the second part of Romeo and Juliet. It is informal cafe style seating and there will be a 15 minute intermission half way through at 7:30 pm plus you can come and go as you please. No need to stay for whole reading. A few extra texts are provided but please bring your own copy of the text or a complete works if you can, or buy your copy in the shop!
The reading series is organized by Rupert Essinger. Rupert is from Leicester, England (the mythical burial place of King Lear) and loves to help make Shakespeare accessible. Parts are assigned at the beginning of each scene so everyone who wants to can read. Seaport Village is located at 835 West Harbor Drive, Downtown San Diego, CA 92101. Click Here for more information.
