San Diego Shakespeare Society has two FREE Open Readings coming up in June. These events are informal readings of the plays with the audience participating in the scenes.
June 5: Cymbeline

And on July 21st at 12:30 pm they will host a free lecture, Speaking of Shakespeare: Scott Farrell on Steampunk Shakespeare. Scott will talk about his short story, “A Midsummer’s Night Steam” in The Omnibus of Doctor Bill Shakes and the Magnificent Ionic Pentatetrameter: A Steampunk’s Shakespeare Anthology. Steampunk clothes and gear are welcomed (even encouraged). The lecture will take place at the Mission Valley Library. Right next door to the Mission Valley Ikea, the Library is central to most of San Diego and easy to access.
