Griot Theatre Presents Julius Caesar a la Game of Thrones

What if the assassination of the world’s most powerful man was orchestrated and executed by a woman? That question lies at the heart of this production of Julius Caesar, set against the backdrop of Game of Thrones. Employing women and artists of color in non-traditional roles, this production creates a fresh and compelling take on this classical work. Griot Theatre of the West Valley presents its inaugural production,  Julius Caesar, October 6 – November 11, with a preview scheduled for October 4th, Thursdays through Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. Malik B. El-Amin directs a cast that includes Daniel Ball (Mark Antony), Cynthia Beckert (Cassius), Antonio D. Charity (Julius Caesar), Devereau Chumrau (Metellus, Lucilius, Flavius, Servant 2), Vincent J. Isaac (Casca, Strato, Messenger), Holiday Kinard (Calpurnia, Trebonius, Lepidus, Pindarus), Erica Mathlin (Portia, Messala, Servant 1, Cobbler), Kevin Nichols (Decius, Titinius, Marullus), Erica Peeples (Octavia, Lucius, Soothsayer), and Jake Suffian (Brutus). Post-show discussions will be held with the actors and director following the performances on October 14 and 28. Open Captioning 10/12 & 10/21; ASL Interpretation 10/27.
