The Old Globe has announced the cast and creative team for The Old Globe/ University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program presentation of Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure, opening November 10 at 8pm and running through November 18. Directed by Ray Chambers, tickets can be purchased at www.TheOldGlobe.org or by calling (619) 23-GLOBE or by visiting the Box Office. A joint venture of The Old Globe and the University of San Diego, the Master of Fine Arts in Dramatic Arts program nationally recruits seven students each year to participate in an intensive two-year, year-round course of graduate study in classical theatre. For additional information, visit www.globemfa.org.
The cast features Erin Elizabeth Adams (Juliet), Matthew Bellows (Angelo), Meaghan Boeing (Mistress Overdone, Lady of the Court), Jeremy Fisher (Lucio), Adam Gerber (Claudio), Kushtrim Hoxha (Elbow, Gentleman, Barnardine), Stephen Hu (Provost), Allison Layman (Francisca, Angelo’s Attendant, Kate Keepdown), Danielle O’Farrell (Escalus), Stephanie Roetzel (Mariana), Christopher Salazar (Duke Vincentio), Robbie Simpson (Froth, Gentleman, Abhorson), Whitney Wakimoto (Isabella) and Sean-Michael Wilkinson (Pompey, Friar Peter).
The Duke of Vienna has handed the reins of his government to Angelo, only to discover that Angelo’s rigid adherence to the law is tainted with hypocrisy. A young nobleman, Claudio, is sentenced to death for premarital relations with a woman to whom he is betrothed. His fate is thrust into the hands of his sister, Isabella, who now must choose between her brother’s life and her own salvation. Wickedly comic and strangely tender, Measure for Measure is one of Shakespeare’s most powerful plays.
The creative team includes Sean Fanning (Scenic Design), Elisa Benzoni (Costume Design), Chris Rynne (Lighting Design), Kevin Anthenill (Sound Design), Jan Gist (Vocal Coach), Brian Byrnes (Movement), Abraham Stoll (Dramaturg), Nicole Ries (Stage Manager) and Stephanie Larson (Assistant Stage Manager).
The Old Globe is located in San Diego’s Balboa Park at 1363 Old Globe Way. There are numerous free parking lots available throughout the park. Valet parking is also available ($10). For additional parking information visit www.BalboaPark.org.

For this particular program you would need to apply to the MFA program. Here is the application link http://www.globemfa.org/applicationpage.html.
For other Shakespeare plays in Southern California, you can check places like the AEA website, Backstage, Actors’ Access and individual theater websites to see who is auditioning. Plus, when there are a lot of auditions going on (usually in the spring), I try to list them on Shakespeare in LA. Good luck!
