Audition Update: ZJU’s Richard III, SCSF’s Henry IV, Part 1

Zombie Joes Underground Theater
Zombie Joes Underground Theater Group is casting Richard III, Shakespeare’s classic play about power, love, lust and descent into madness. Director Denise Devin is looking for an energetic and committed ensemble cast of all ages and ethnicities. Rehearsals begin March 30 and performances run May 10 – June 16 in N. Hollywood. All rehearsals will be held in the ZJU Theater, 4850 Lankershim Blvd., No Hollywood, CA 91601. Actors should submit a picture or resume via Actors Access and you will be contacted for an audition. The director is also open to gender bending (women in men’s roles) for some of the parts. All actors cast will play more than one role. Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival
The Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival is holding auditions for their summer production of Shakespeare’s Henry IV, Part 1, directed by Stephen Whelan. Auditions are April 6th from 10 – 4 pm. All roles are available and casting is race and gender blind. Strong consideration for actors familiar with Shakespearean language, and/or who have experience performing in an outdoor venue. The production opens July 13 and runs three weekends (Saturdays & Sundays) in July. There is also a preview performance on July 12th. SCSF performs at Rivendale in Ed Davis Park in Santa Clarita. Auditions are by appointment only and actors interested in auditioning should contact the company at Actors should prepare a 2-minute classical monologue and be familiar with the play. The free Shakespeare in the Park is a part of the SummerFest at Rivendale.
