Theatricum Botanicum invites you to their FREE Open House Saturday, May 4 11:00 am -5:00 pm. Come out and enjoy a myriad of events including guided tours with costumed characters (highlighting the gardens, archival photo gallery, stories of Theatricum’s history and a peek at a rehearsal for The Taming of the Shrew, theatre games (stage combat, Elizabethan dance, fencing, juggling and more), showcases and theatrical presentations from Theatricum’s Academy teachers and students, a sneak preview of the 2013 repertory season followed by Off the Grid improv comedy (beginning at 3pm on the mainstage), food and beverage vendors, and special one-day only season ticket offers.

In 1973, actor Will Geer and his family established Theatricum Botanicum as a non-profit theatre in the heart of Topanga Canyon. 40 years later, the company is still here, offering an annual season of live entertainment and a variety of arts education programs for children, teens and adults. 

Then on Mother’s Day, come out and enjoy an uncommon, family-friendly afternoon of performance delights at 2pm, emcee’d by the luminous Lexi Pearl. The awe-inspiring performance includes aerialists, firebreathers, modern dance, juggling and performance art, plus you can add to your ticket order the brunch provided by Chef Whitney Flood (of Culver City’s Muddy Leek restaurant).

And finally, on Friday May 24th join the gang at 7:30 pm for John Reilly and Friends in Concert as they kick off this year’s musical offerings in grand style. Beloved actor and musician John Reilly will present an afternoon of country western and rock & roll favorites. Friends Becky Stark and Tom Brosseau will join him, backed by a dynamic band. This will mark John’s 3rd appearance on the Theatricum stage, and his 2nd concert fundraiser for the theatre. – we’re very glad to have him back, singing the music so near and dear to his heart.
