Shakespeare in LA

Rubicon Theatre has replaced its previously announced summer youth production of The Taming of the Shrew with Romeo and Juliet, one of the first plays produced by the Fearless Shakespeare program. Sandra and Jordan Laby, the original sponsors of Romeo and Juliet have generously agreed to once again sponsor the production. Students interested in auditioning should call (805) 667-2912 ext. 230 to schedule an appointment. Auditions will be held on April 26, 2013. The Fearless Shakespeare Program runs July 8 – August 4 with performances August 2, 3 & 4. Under the direction and guidance of award-winning actor, Joseph Fuqua and Shakespeare scholar, Jonathan Drahos, students will work six-hours-a-day, six-days-a-week, learning about Shakespeare’s world, script analysis, scansion and verse, dialect, vocal production and character development in this exciting program. Tuition is $750.
