Back by popular demand for Shakespeare Orange County’s twenty second anniversary season celebration are PAY WHAT YOU WILL THURSDAYS. Audience members can make a “donation of their choice” for tickets to the remaining Thursday evening performances of Macbeth in an outdoor setting with performances staged under the night sky.
John Walcutt plays the Scottish king in Macbeth and Evelyn Carol Case is his Lady Macbeth. Mike Peebler plays MacDuff and Carl Reggiardo is Banquo in the final production of the 2013 season. “We have people driving from all over Southern California and beyond to see our work,” says Thomas Bradac, artistic director “and we want to provide everyone with the opportunity to see it—thus one of the reasons for the PAY WHAT YOU WILL PROGRAM.
This is how the program works. Patrons are invited to purchase tickets (limit 2 per person) for what they think is fair, what they can afford, or just want they want to pay at the box office on designated Thursdays for that evening’s performance. All purchases must be cash, and seating is based upon availability. PAY WHAT YOU WILL tickets cannot be reserved or purchase online. If a patron wants to reserve or pick seats, standard pricing is still available.
PAY WHAT YOU WILL pricing is available on Thursday evenings only. Reserved tickets for Shakespeare Orange County performances are $35.00 (Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays) with $33.00 pricing for students/seniors. Reserved seating can be purchased at the Festival Amphitheatre box office from 3:30 – 6:00 pm or online at www.shakespeareoc.org.
