Independent Shakespeare Co. will hold Equity Principal Auditions on February 26 from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm at the ISC Studio Offices, 3191 Casitas Ave Ste 168, Los Angeles, CA 90039. They are in 3191, on the NORTH end of the building. Please use 168 door. Seeking men and women for multiple roles in Twelfth Night (directed by Melissa Chalsma), The Taming of the Shrew (directed by David Melville), and Richard III (director TBA).
Rehearsals begin June 3rd and festival runs June 26 – August 31. Please prepare two short classical speeches, one comic and one dramatic. At least one should be in verse. No more than 2 1/2 minutes TOTAL. ISC is committed to diverse casting: actors of color strongly urged to apply for all roles. The festival is outdoors and un-miked on a purpose built stage on the grounds of the Old Zoo in Griffith Park. They are looking for actors with strong voices, good speech and a background in classical theatre. Performances are Thursdays – Sundays at 7 PM. No show on July 4th. Theatricum Botanicum is seeking male and female local actors of all ages and ethnicities for its 2014 Summer Repertory Season in its outdoor Theatre. The season includes Lear, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, All’s Well that Ends Well and Much Ado About Nothing. The 5th show is TBD
The roles of Lear, Edgar, Edmund and Gloucester are cast. Seeking all other roles and potential understudies for all roles. Equity LOA contract for Union; EMC opportunity for non-union. Lear and Dream begin rehearsals in early April and perform for schools weekday mornings throughout May, early June and again in early October. Weekend repertory performances run 6/7 through 10/13. All’s Well and Much Ado begin rehearsals in June and July (evenings) and join the repertory performances through the end of the season.
