Audition Update: SOC, The Porters of Hellsgate, Shakespeare in the Vines

Shakespeare O.C. has announced that general auditions for their 2015 season will take place on Saturday, February 7 and Sunday, February 8 at the Garden Grove Amphitheater. The season will open with Romeo & Juliet, directed by John Walcutt, and will also include a second Shakespeare play and a world premiere drama, both TBA. All roles (except Romeo) are available, and SOC is open to non-traditional casting. The Summer Company will have both paid and intern performers; but all company members will have free access to their year-round acting workshop taught by members of the artistic committee, including producing artistic director John Walcutt. The Porters of Hellsgate are holding auditions for their upcoming production of Othello on January 17. Callbacks will take place on January 18. Charles Pasternak plays Iago after returning from New Jersey Shakespeare and his stint as Claudio. Thomas Bigley directs. Othello will open at The Whitmore Theatre on February 28 for a five week run. Submit electronically on Actors Access by 3:00 pm on January 15. Auditions for the Shakespeare in the Vines 10th anniversary summer outdoor season will take place March 27 – 29. Auditions for Shakespeare in the Vines’ 2013 season will be held by appointment only on March 29 and 30 at The Ballet Studio, 41581 Date Street, Murrieta, CA 92462. Callbacks will be held on March 30 beginning at 6pm. The season includes The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), The History of King Henry IV, Pts 1 & 2, and The Taming of the Shrew. Prepare a monologue up to 2 minutes, or you may do one comic and one serious monologue not to exceed 3 minutes. Shakespeare by the Sea
Shakespeare by the Sea is now accepting submissions for All’s Well That Ends Well (opens June 6) directed by Patrick Vest, and King John (opens June 13) directed by Stephanie Coltrin. Both shows will play in repertory through August 10, 2013. There is some pay. Rehearsals are at Little Fish Theatre in San Pedro. Performances run Thu, Fri & Sat at Point Fermin Park in San Pedro through June 29th, then touring to various locales throughout LA and Orange Counties before returning to Point Fermin. Submit digital shots and resumes by Wednesday April 3, 2012 to shakespearecasting@gmail.com. Due to the overwhelming response each year, they will contact those they are interested in auditioning to schedule an audition appointment. The 2013 audition dates are Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7. Please prepare a one minute Shakespeare monologue and bring two hard copies of your headshot and resume.
