Yvette Bishop will direct a steam punk flavored Twelfth Night with an all student band at Chaminade College Preparatory High School in West Hills, opening in November. Performances will take place in the Tutor Family Center for the Performing Arts on Nov. 14, 15, 21 & 22. The Chaminade Players is a dedicated group of students committed to creating theatrical masterpieces with dynamic performances through a collaboration of the school’s various technical crews and actors. You don’t need gimmicks to do Shakespeare. Simple outfits and universal lighting make the work shine, not setting MacBeth in gangland Chicago or whatever other nonsense a director thinks elevates the plays.

Thank you for your comment Ted. This is a high school group who is doing Twelfth Night so trying out new things with Shakespeare to make it fun and accessible isn’t a bad idea.
